Vintage Source is Open Wednesday - Friday 12-5, Saturday 10-6, and Sunday 12-5, every week. We may close during certain holidays. Check our store hours on google and social media if you are unsure.
Will you open by appointment outside of normal business hours?
On most occasions, Vintage Source is happy to set up an appointment with you to open outside of normal business hours if you are unable to come in during regular hours.
I'd like to buy a piece but I cannot pick it up yet. Can you hold it?
Once purchased, we are happy to hold pieces of furniture up to four weeks unless otherwise noted. If you need a piece held for longer, please let us know prior to purchase and we are happy to talk through options.
Do you Ship Furniture?
Vintage Source delivers weekly within the Kansas City area (usually Tuesdays), and is happy to ship pieces nationwide at the buyer's expense. Contact us at 816.541.6402 during normal business hours, or email us at info@vintagesourcekc.com to to discuss shipping a piece to your door.
Pieces and shipping cost must be paid paid in full before they are shipped. Typical nationwide delivery is 2-4 weeks after purchase. It is important that your piece arrives to your home in the condition it left our store, so we trust and utilize only the best shippers across the nation. Typically, cost is based upon the size of the item in conjunction with distance traveled and popularity of route.
What is your return policy?
As a general rule, all sales by Vintage Source are final and we do not accept returns or refunds. However we are human, and in the event of our error, we will work with you to find a solution and make it right.
We do our absolute best to accurately describe the condition of our furniture pieces. It should be understood that unless noted, the pieces are in original vintage condition and signs of use will be present.
How should I care for my newly purchased vintage piece?
Care should be taken with all vintage pieces. Most often, wooden midcentury modern pieces are finished with lacquer. Although durable, lacquer can be scratched and scuffed, and is susceptible to water if the water sits for any period of time. It is highly recommended to use coasters and generally not place containers with liquid on vintage pieces. Water rings and water damage will appear if liquid sits on the console for minutes on end.
We recommend using Oz Cream Polish by Mohawk to keep your vintage lacquered pieces looking their best. It has a black, white, and yellow label and is formulated specifically for lacquered pieces.
Do you offer furniture repair?
Yes! we are happy to help with your furniture repair needs. Please email photos and what you need repaired to info@vintagesourcekc.com.
What is your restoration process?
For a full restoration of a wooden piece, we strip the finish of all surfaces with failed original finish, and use period correct finishing techniques. This technique includes such steps as stain, vinyl sealer, glazing, toner, and lacquer. We may leave some original finished surfaces in tact if the surface is still in excellent condition.
In the event of a partial or complete restoration, it should be understood that some small signs of use will still exist, and the interior cabinetry will remain original unless otherwise discussed.
Do you offer upholstery services for other people's furniture or just your own?
We absolutely take upholstery commissions and do work for others - whether that be interior professionals or individuals. Please email us at info@vintagesource.com with your inquiry. Include photos of the pieces you'd like upholstered, and we can start a quote!
Do you buy vintage furniture?
We are very selective but we do buy some midcentury modern and other pieces of furniture. If you'd like us to consider buying pieces you are selling, please email us at info@vintagesourcekc.com, and include photos, imperfections, and asking price.
Do you consign furniture?
We are selective in our furniture consignment process. We want the furniture we sell for others to fit within the context and "vibe" of the store. We typically consign at 50%, meaning if we sell a piece of furniture for you, we evenly split the amount the furniture sells for. We are able to pick up furniture for consignment in the Kansas City area for a fee. in order for us to consign, the furniture must be "floor ready", meaning cleaned and in operational condition. If repair is required, Vintage Source can facilitate cleaning or repairs at our standard shop rate.
I'm looking for Vintage Posch, is this it?
Yes! Vintage Posch was the operating name of Dan Posch's business prior to opening Vintage Source. The Vintage Posch instagram still remains active. All inventory listed through Vintage Posch is at Vintage Source.
